Anonymous Claims Responsibility for Attack on Globovisión Tele C.A.

In August 2024, the hacktivist group Anonymous—specifically the faction known as Anonymous Venezuela—launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack against the Venezuelan television network Globovisión. The attack was part of the broader #OpFreeVenezuela campaign following the 2024 presidential election and resulted in the network’s website becoming inaccessible, displaying a “500 Internal Server Error.” Although the attack caused a temporary disruption to digital service, there is no evidence that a data breach occurred or that confidential information was leaked.
